Seeing Stars

If you’ve been with me from the beginning of this blog you know my interests span a wide range. I’ve realized that one of the things I like about having broad interests is that to me they’re not things I enjoy in isolation. I love helping people develop in their career whether it’s as an individual contributor or as a leader. I also love studying personal growth and understanding myself through both mainstream frameworks (Clifton Strengths, 16 Personalities, Big Five, etc.) and through personal studies (yoga, chakras, astrology, etc.). For me, the connection between things like yoga and leadership are absolutely complementary.

Now, if you’re someone who believes that the only things that are relevant in your world are ones that come with a degree from an accredited university or that anything beyond rigorous science isn’t worth exploring then my content isn’t for you and that’s totally ok. I will be exploring the space between traditional systems and frameworks and the beautiful practices and traditions that have worked for many people across many cultures.

Now that that’s out of the way, I recently decided to add some additional study to the 7 Chakra’s Mind and Body program I started. My yoga teacher has an offer for a discount on the Soul Weather Pro Life Coaching Certification as it’s the 25th anniversary of the Bodhi Yoga Studio. This was a certification I wanted to do for myself eventually and with the discounted price I couldn’t say no. Luckily, like most things in my life, the chakra training and this one are complementary to the yoga teacher training so I’ll get to deep dive into all of it which feels really good.

So, what is Soul Weather? If you haven’t already clicked through and scoped out the program here’s a piece of what Syl has written.

When used properly, Bodhi Yoga Soul Weather PRO™ training can help you better understand life experiences that shape who you are, as well as unconscious habits and defaults that you’re using in responding to them!

Learn how to respond to your circumstance better, and set intentions that are more aligned with your Source; which will then naturally bring more meaningful fruition and clarity in your life.

In times of ongoing change, fear, stress, and anxiety (hello 2020 through the present…) who wouldn’t want to take advantage of every opportunity to make sense of the chaos and to take control of how you perceive and react to what is going on around you. For some folks that could mean reading books, listening to podcasts, or tuning into the news. For others it may mean controlling your eating habits, getting regular exercise, and participating in activities that keep your mind healthy and strong. There is no one right way to move through this life and for me this program felt like the right thing to explore.

So far, I’ve watched the first couple videos in the program and had Syl complete a Natal Chart reading for me. It wasn’t the fortune teller, future prediction, or horoscope type thing you might imagine it to be. It felt like everything we discussed was confirming so many things I just didn’t have words to express. (It also didn’t feel like Syl was trying to predict my future or make stuff up but it was more guiding me through what was reflected in the stars at the time I was born.) Honestly, my life has been like that a lot lately where I realize that I know something intuitively but didn’t have the words to describe it until I learned something new. I honestly love that experience and it’s why jumping into this program felt right.

Anyway, just wanted to share this fun update that you’ll get to see me talk about this program and what I’m learning here on the blog as well. If gaining a deeper level of understanding of your self is something that’s interesting to you I highly recommend Syl and the programs she’s created. They can be completed online from anywhere in the world, though Syl does gather the different groups in person as well. I’ve found lasting friendships in my time studying and practicing at Bodhi Yoga and if the time feels right feel free to reach out to her and learn more. I’m also happy to share more about my experiences if it’s helpful too.

So, if you haven’t quickly unsubscribed and excused yourself from my corner of the internet because this is too far out for you, I hope you’ll join me on this journey. I know for some folks this may seem strange but to me it makes perfect sense.
