Welcome, friends.

My name is Heather Motogawa-MacDonald (she/her) and I guide diverse women and mothers through experiences to navigate burnout recovery and life and career transitions.

Now Booking Workshops and Speaking Engagements for 2026!

If 2025 left you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or like you’re at the bottom of the pit of despair you are not alone. Societal upheaval, global crises, overconsumption, comparison, and uncertainty about the future in the age of AI have added layers of reasons we could be feeling anxiety, depression, or burnout.

What I have found in navigating all of this for myself is twofold. Part of the challenge is the old tools, advice, frameworks, and playbooks no longer apply. The second part is the recognition that 2025 has had me feeling in between two worlds.

I’ve experienced this feeling of always being at opposite ends of things. Whether it was liking polar opposites, having few strong opinions growing up, or being the type of person who could get along in any space or group. For most of my life it’s served me in being able to go along to get along with ease.

As I’ve gotten older this feeling of being between is resulting in anxiety, moral injury, and at times questioning thoughts of my worth or my purpose in this world. It’s no longer about liking most types of music but starting to see and feel the ways that being good at my work can result in damage to people and the planet.

The exhaustion is soul level deep and through the end of 2025 I haven’t been sure how to navigate things going forward. Then, my yoga teacher shared this quote from an interaction with one of her favorite poets David Whyte.

“The antidote to exhaustion is not necessarily rest. The antidote to exhaustion is wholeheartedness. You’re so exhausted because you can’t be wholehearted at what you’re doing…”

~ Benedictine monk, Brother David Steindl-Rast to poet David Whyte

Boom. This is it. For the last year or so I’ve felt pulled between wanting to do more with yoga and coaching and not completely hating my day job. I have had many really cool opportunities, made so many good friends, and learned so much but this pull between two spaces has been hard. Now seeing that my exhaustion may be the fact I’m not wholeheartedly doing the things I deep down know I want to could be why I’m so tired.

I’m thrilled that in 2026 I’ll be rolling out some programs that have been sitting in the spaces in my mind that I think are the things the world needs space for. We’ll be exploring how to redefine our relationships with work and our lives in ways that enable us to live wholehearted lives of purpose. Details about my first program Your Career: Redefined are live here.
