Read Me First

So here’s the deal.

I’ve spent the past couple of years trying to figure out how to create a space that felt authentic to who I am but also felt like it could provide value for those who managed to stumble upon my corner of the inter webs. The longer I contemplated what to do the more I felt I was either cutting out pieces of me to fit a specific audience or topic. I’d write for a bit and then give up.

This time what I’m doing is writing for me.

All of me!

Not just the part of me that focuses on workforce transformation and systemic culture change at work.
Not just the part of me that loves cars and astrology.
Not just the part of me that wants to create learning opportunities for women of color to become the next generation of leaders.
Not just the part of me that is a mom, wife, and parent of a child with autism.
Not just the part of me that has a cat, and soon a puppy.
Not just the part of me that loves coffee.
Not just the part of me that can’t eat dairy.
Not just the part of me that loves yoga, music, books, podcasts, Hello Kitty, pens, journals, and pretty crystals.

All of that. All of me.

So, if you’re looking for a focused blog about one thing and one point of view this may not be it. I’ll do my best to create meaningful tags that can help folks sort through and find the things that resonate with you if you’re looking for a specific topic. Though, I hope that you’ll join me for the thoughts and insights that are all of me because that’s what makes up my point of view and informs the wisdom I have. Maybe over time I’ll find a focus and things will shift but for now, I will write about what makes me happy and what’s on my mind because THAT is the thing that makes me who I am.

I call this space Contemplating Life’s Choices because I realized that for as long as I can remember that’s been a constant thread for me. I often say it as a joke when my husband will ask me what I’m up to. I’d tell him oh you know just contemplating life’s choices. Most of the time I wasn’t contemplating a specific life choice but just thinking about things bigger than the day-to-day choices like what to wear tomorrow.

So, that’s it. That’s the tea.

Expect the unexpected. If you read the blog in order it’s likely to jump around but that’s what it is. That’s how my brain works and that’s what you’re in for if you’re here. If you don’t like that there are SO many other brilliant people with a specific point of view you can follow that I’m sure you’ll love. I won’t be offended either because we all need different people and things in our lives at different points in time. If what I have here doesn’t speak to you find what does. Life is too short to not find the people and things that you need in your life.

And if you decide this space is for you, welcome. Leave comments, connect with me on social, and join me in creating a community where we can bring our whole selves together.
